Porters were invented as a fortifying drink for the rough-and-tumble working class of London’s bustling markets. It was brewed for good folks with calluses on their hands, doing work that needed to be done. We salute those working-class heroes with our classic Porter, brewed in the hop-forward American style and featuring a depth of malt flavor and complexity with roasted notes of black coffee and cocoa.

Yes! No more 1 star. It was definitely worth the wait. Dark red hued, definite cherry notes, full flavor yet not heavy. Reminded me of Anchor Porter. Thank you so much Sierra Nevada. Much love.
Nice porter - heavy black malt. Could use a bit more flavor hops. I haven’t had SN Porter in 20 years - glad it is shippable.
For my taste buds, the Porter is best when paired with a full-bodied Nicaraguan cigar by the Garcia family. Not too strong, sweet or dry and just right carbonation allow all the flavors of both to stand out.
classic Porter, I wish it still was available regularlly along side Pale Ale like it used to be
Great take on a classic beer style which originated in London in the early 1700s.
Still a great beer all these years later.
Really well made porter. Malt well in evidence without over shadowing the rest of the flavors. Wish it and the stout were distributed in my area on the central coast.
excellent, my favorite porter. i wish they still distributed this across the country.
In the year 2000 my wife and I, before being married, would get together and play cards and drink pitchers of "Sierra Porter" at our local spot in Ocean Beach, CA. - Newport Bar and Grill (Rest in Peace). First sip instantly brought back memories of youth, freedom and what helped shape the flavor of roasty California hop-forward beers. Super clean, toasted bready malt, touch of sweetness, herbal hop in the background, mild bitterness and dry finish. Drinks easy and goes down smooth.
